On behalf of all the faculties of Osaka University of Human Sciences, I ,as president, would like to express a warm welcome to the lecturers from Finland and the audience and thank everyone for taking time to attend today’s lecture and discussion.
We hold today’s meeting under the collaboration with Ryusei-Fukushikai. I’m grateful to Ryuusei-Fukushikai and Ryuusei-Hanako Network.
Our University was established in 2001, the beginning year of the 21 st century and now we have 6 departments, namely Department of Social Services, Department of Health and Social Services, including Major of Care Work and Major of Certified Orthoptists, Department of Child Welfare, Department of Health Psychology, Department of Medical Psychology, including Major of Human Development of Psychology and Major of Speech-Language and Hearing Therapy and Department of Physical Therapy.
A society with an aging population is an important key concept in Japan today.
Our University seeks to respond to the need of our society by training qualified students.
From this point of view, the theme of today’s lecture, ‘Technology and Social Welfare in Finland’ is quite relevant to our Universisty.
I firmly believe that the talks and the discussions following will inspire and motivate us to deal with the rapidly changing situation in Japanese society.
Thank you very much for your attention.
